Hi guys! My name is Kaitlin Sparrow and I’m the new intern here at Shadow CrossFit. I am a senior communications-public relations major at Culver-Stockton College. I am from West Burlington, Iowa and a die-hard University of Iowa fan. Don’t hate Illinois fans.

I have always known I was going to be an athlete at a young age. My parents were both stellar athletes growing up and I knew I needed to follow in their footsteps. I have always tried every sport from soccer, softball, volleyball, golf and basketball. Key word tried basketball, shooting at the wrong hoop twice doesn’t really help your shooting statistics.

I started my college education at Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Illinois. While at CSC I was involved in Women’s Softball and Golf. At CSC I really focused on not gaining the “freshman 15” and worked out almost daily.  Doing a lot of running, lifting, and abdominal workouts. I graduated in May 2012 and decided to further my collegiate golf career.

At Culver-Stockton I majored in Athletic Training because of my love of athletics. My main reason was helping the athletes prevent injuries during their games and workouts. Soon enough I realized that wasn’t for me. I switched my major to communications-public relations. Now here I am at Shadow CrossFit doing what I love best, athletics and getting the word out about a great business.
